The power of creating and publishing a video on the web can be overwhelming and it can truly have an impact on audiences worldwide. This is evident by a recent video from America that has become a huge hit.

Some cancer-stricken children from Seattle in the US decided to make a video with their nurses, doctors and parents to boost their spirits and since uploading it to the internet they’ve turned into an online sensation.

The clip features the patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital lip-synching and dancing to the popular Kelly Clarkson song ‘Stronger’.

Since the video hit the web, it has had more than 900,000 views and even the pop star herself has reposted it on her website with a message saying it was ‘amazing’. After hearing and watching the video, it is reported that Kelly wanted to send a special thank you to the inspirational patients that were a part of it.

A doctor from the hospital, Dr Douglas Hawkins, has since said that the kids and staff have been thrilled by the global response.

This lovely story shows just how influential online video is for consumers and business across the planet. If something is fun, engaging and entertaining people will enjoy it and share it with their friends and family.

This is essentially how you can market yourself to a vast audience by encouraging people to watch and share your video and Vidify can help you with our expert video production services.

Almost of half of the nation watch videos on the web on a daily basis and the average person spends seven hours a week watching online video, according to a recent study.

A survey commissioned by video ad company YuMe found that the majority of consumers prefer short videos as opposed to long ones as 70% of those surveyed said that they watched videos less than five minutes in length.

Why is online video becoming more and more popular? Well the number one reason stated by respondents was accessibility. Many appreciate the fact that they can watch videos on the internet whenever they like, including on the move on their mobile phones. This convenience gives the audience the feeling of independence and power because they are not restricted to a time zone etc.

The quality of online video was on par with television but the attitude towards web video was better in terms of exclusive content that is not available elsewhere, as well as that it is a great way to stay up-to-date and know what is going on at present.

What is more, only 29% of those surveyed skip more than 75% of adverts in online video in contrast to 49% of those on TV which means more consumers are watching ads on the web.

Further findings showed that 66% are watching more video in comparison to last year and the biggest increase is in women as 70% confessed to watching more online video whereas only 30% of men said that their habit has increased.

The results are fantastic for businesses looking to market their brand online, especially given that the majority of consumers are watching the adverts. This means you can boost your presence on the internet and increase sales, simply by creating a high quality, engaging video with the likes of our web video production company.

The number of teenagers in America recording and publishing videos on the web has risen, according to a recent survey.

Findings by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project reveal that in the last six years there has been a rise in the use of online video amongst teens. Over 25% of youths have taped and published a video to the Internet on sites like YouTube in contrast to 14% in 2006.

And it shows that the usage of online video is much more popular with the younger generation as opposed to the older because only 14% of adults said that they publish videos on the web.

The report, dubbed ‘Teens and Online Video’, found that 37% of US teens video chat using programmes like Skype or Google Talk. And girls are more likely to chat online than boys.

But the study found that girls have become more tech-savvy over the years. In 2006, boys were nearly twice more likely to record and upload videos than girls whereas today boys and girls are equally likely to engage in online video.

And teens on Facebook and other social media sites are the most prone to shoot and post video than those who do not use social media. Of all the youngsters surveyed, who were aged 12-17 years-old, 16% had a profile on Twitter and 46% of these record and upload video on the web.

With online video becoming an integral daily part for many young adults, it is a great place to start promoting your business!

It has been ruled by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (Locog) that sights and sounds of the Games cannot be published online.

According to the committee, spectators are banned from uploading pictures or videos on the internet on sites like YouTube, Facebook or Twitter.

A Locog spokesperson said: “Images, video and sound recordings of the Games taken by a ticket holder (or, the Advertiser understands, roadside viewers in non-ticketed areas) can only be used for private purposes.

“In addition a ticket holder may not license, broadcast or publish video and/or sound recordings, including on social networking websites and the internet more generally, and may not exploit images, video and/or sound recordings for commercial purposes under any circumstances, whether on the internet or otherwise, or make them available to third parties for commercial purposes.”

The news has caused controversy across the UK, with many citizens claiming that the biggest sporting event in Britain’s history should be celebrated and recorded to pass onto to future generations as keepsakes.

It is a momentous occasion for any person living in the UK and one that many Brits may not experience ever again in their lifetime. Others claim that it is physically impossible for the government to stop them from taking pictures and sharing them online.

Further rulings claim that traders and pub landlords who are not official sponsors of the Olympics are forbidden from using slogans, logos and words associated with the Games. Locog states that official trademarks are reserved for licensees and sponsors.

Vidify’s video production services are London based and we believe that businesses can stand out from the crowd and connect more effectively with your customers with an online video.

We cannot dispute with Locog’s ruling on publishing video of the London 2012 Olympics on the web but we can produce bespoke website video to boost your brand’s image online.

Video sharing website YouTube has lost its copyright court battle over music videos in a German court.

The court in Hamburg has ruled in favour of a German music royalty collecting society that claimed Google doesn’t do enough to monitor the copyright of content on the platform. GEMA represents about 60,000 German song writers and musicians in the country.

The ruling states that YouTube must install filters to check and spot users from uploading music videos whose rights are owned by the music-royalties collecting body. And the suit revealed that YouTube is responsible for the content that users post to the website.

The landmark case could result in YouTube forking out hefty shares of its website’s advertising revenues to GEMA. And if enforced, the ruling could also slow the rate at which video is posted to the site as any music clip would have to be cleared for copyright before being used. At the moment, it is reported that 60 hours’ worth of video is uploaded every minute and over four billion videos are viewed a day!

The German industry group said that YouTube had not done enough to stop copyrighted clips being posted and Heiner Steeneck, the presiding judge, said Google must now implement features to detect future violations if a rights holder alerts the company.

YouTube had initially argued that it took no legal responsibility for what users did or monitoring videos and music clips and that they merely provided the technical framework to publish content but the court as disagreed.

The court case began back in 2010 and it involved 12 separate music clips posted on YouTube without copyright permission which GEMA had asserted. The recent ruling forced seven to be taken down.

YouTube owner Google has yet to comment on the ruling but Harald Heker, the head of GAMA, has said that all they want is a contract, not to take them to court.

All videos made by Vidify.co.uk are completely unique to your business. All unique video production is second to none; so rest assured that they are bespoke as well as affordable.

A massive 37 billion online videos were watched last month in America, according to a recent study. Findings by comScore reveal that the total US web audience viewed around 37 billion videos in March and that Google is the top online provider.

About 181 million US internet users watched videos for an average of about 21.7 hours per viewer and Google sites proved the most popular, as it brought in 146.1 million viewers watching 15.7 billion videos.

This is in stark contrast to Yahoo sites which only received 60.6 million viewers viewing 814.8 million videos; and Facebook which had 45.1 million viewers watching 247 million videos.

Further findings show that Americans spent the most time on Google sites with 424.6 minutes being spent per viewer in March compared with Yahoo (72.4 minutes). Hulu, owned by Walt Disney Co., News Corp., Comcast Corp.’s NBC Universal and Providence Equity Partners- came close with 275.2 minutes a viewer in total 31.1 million viewers watching around one billion videos.

But interestingly, even though people spent the most time viewing videos on Google sites, Hulu had the most video ad views with a record 1.75 billion. Google only received 1.27 billion.

Other comScore survey results concur this for the UK, with four out of five people watching online video each month equating to more than 5.5 billion video views.

Website video can be a powerful concept for any business, especially given the findings mentioned above. Regardless of where a firm is in the world, the vast number of audiences of online video is growing so you should take advantage of this platform.

The number of people watching video content online in the UK could rise as much as 50%, according to a recent survey.

Findings by Adobe reveal that mobile users are most engaged with online video advertising and that users are the most actively involved when it comes to consuming videos on their smartphones and tablets.

The study showed that there has been an increase in viewer acceptance of TV-like ad experiences on the web and that compared to data from the first six months of 2011, online video ad consumption is beginning to be just as resourceful as traditional TV commercials.

The semi-annual report was compiled with an anonymous sample of 2.5 billion ad impressions served via Adobe Auditude- their video ad management platform.

Jeremy Helfand, Vice president, Monetization at Adobe, said: “For professional content owners and media companies exploring TV-like ad experiences online, the latest data demonstrates the strong potential for extending traditional broadcast advertising dollars to digital video.”

A key finding from the study is that 94% suggest mobile viewers are more engaged and open to watching online video on the go so they can have it wherever they go, whenever they want. On average 5.5 video ads are now being served as part of a long form, professional content; and compared to those in user-generated content, 76% of completion rates of ads in professional content are higher suggesting that the ability of professional content is better to engage with audiences.

As you can see from the findings, the trend of online video is soaring and if it is set to double in the next five years, it is important that all businesses jump on board the band wagon by contacting Vidify today.

Need more proof? Check out some of the reasons here on why you should use online video.

A two year old has become a YouTube sensation wither own rendition of the hit single by Adele, Someone Like You.

The song was the first single which was arguably the song which set Adele on her way to being a worldwide star and it seems to have done the same for a young girl from Canada, Makena. She has had almost 8 and a half million views and the cute way in which she sings the song is sure to bring in many more views.

Being such a tender age, she seems to have a good grasp of the lyrics in the song which is what seems to have drawn a number of her viewers to the video. The song does take a different aspect than the normal soulful feel it has. The seemingly tragic words take an almost amusing form in the way they are sung by the young Canadian girl.

The youngster, it wouldn’t have been expected anyway, but as you may imagine she struggles at some parts but trusty as ever, her mother is on hand to help her along with some of the words that she’s struggling with so that she makes it as far as possible through the song.

There are a number of amateur videos on YouTube which gain millions of views of every month, this being an example of one and there are also a number of videos which have had a lot of money put into them and have been professionally produced; this is normally to promote a company or product.

If you’re the owner of a business and you would like to push it that bit more and have a video made to promote maybe just your business or perhaps a new product, then you should get in touch with Vidify, an extremely professional company who can provide you with a professionally produced video at a reasonable price.

Online videos are set to see their pay and advertising revenues increase fourfold by 2020, according to new research.

Executives from all over the UK have been quizzed by MTM, a company who help their clients to solve challenging business problems, develop strategies for growth and also improve their business performance and relationships, about how they see the sector progressing over the next eight years or so. More than 75% of the people questioned were extremely positive about the financial outlook and were expecting the revenue to grow.

These findings were presented at the Guardian Changing Media Summit 2012. The results also forecast online advertising revenues to increase 320% by 2020.

In addition to this, there’s a study from Red Bee Media which shows 58% of the respondents predict product placement ad-funded programming to become much more important streams of revenue. The survey also found that the majority, 72%, of respondents believe that competition for premium content is set to intensify over the coming years.

Two websites that will be among those that benefit from the growing online video trend are Google and YouTube. The two sites are the ones that are expected to have the greatest success at growing their share of revenue.

There’s also been more research carried out by eMarketer which has found that online video ads are set to take up a far greater proportion of internet marketing budgets.

As it stands, video is the fastest growing online ad format at the minute with spending increasing by 55% in 2012 following a growth of 42.1% in 2011.

If you want to get on the bandwagon which everyone seems to be jumping on at the moment and get a video made to advertise your company or a service that your company provides, then you should pay a visit to Vidify.
