A hilarious video that saw some newlyweds fall into a lake with their bridal and grooms party has gone viral.
They often say that you are taking the plunge when you decide to walk down the altar and get married but one couple from America literally took the plunge on their special day.
The bride was left soaking in her wedding dress and the groom in his suit when the lake dock they were standing on for wedding photographs collapsed underneath them- and the whole scene was captured on film.
The video sees the entourage in West Michigan become drenched when the dock they were stood on when posing for photos at the reception crumbled beneath their feet. It seems that the structure strained under the weight of the group.
The clip has become a hit on the web as viewers watch the bride, Maegan Walber, fall into the water. But it seems that the newlyweds have seen the funny side of the wedding fiasco despite the fact that it captures the husband swimming for shore, leaving his waterlogged wife to swim alone.
The traditional custom is usually something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, and it can only be presumed that the bride did not expect to have her ‘something blue’ in the form of her lips being freezing cold.
It often pays to see the funnier side of life and the bride did so when emerging form the water giggling. She told a local TV channel that she “came up laughing” and that she just couldn’t believe what had actually happened.
It’s great to hear that spirits remained high despite the dampness and the new Mrs Walber was able to change into a dress that she had worn to the rehearsal the day beforehand. Luckily, the bridesmaids were wearing black so nothing became see-through!
The video was only published on YouTube on 24th June 2012 but has already received 145,648 views.
